since the tragedy of twenty-10 (including but not restricted to the robbery of my macbook) i havent been able to download any new music and as such am unable to update on the newest but not necessarily the awesomest music of this new decade.

so i have fallen back on the loveliest task of educating those who have obviously been living under not just one rock but an AVALANCHE of rocks, about VAMPIRE WEEKEND.

to be perfectly honest: i didn't really like them at first. but after a second listen, i was convinced of their obvious musical superiority to whatever other junk i was listening to at the time. (probably something from disney). They're just so... refreshing.

For those of you who don't know this hot and sexy beast, his name is Jon Mclaughlin. His music is a mixture of swingalicious jazz, smooth piano riffs and Jon's chocolate velvety voice. :D You might know him or his song , So Close from that movie with McDreamy from Grey's Anatomy (Patrick Dempsey) and Amy Adams, who i don't really know except from this movie which btw. is called Ella Enchanted. (dont watch it)

I find his lyrics to be 'real' in some cheesy way and can be related to in some way. (for instance 'four years' is about school life)

i do.

sometimes, i wake up and i feel so selfish for complaining about what i am so lucky to have.

and then, i feel worse when i think about all those out there, dying...

thinking: i'll do it later, after the hsc, after an assessment, after this, after that. But how many people will suffer because of this?

i'll think there are others who can do it! truthfully. what can i even do?

hey friends!

so here's an update on what i did for the past few days :)

on NYE sam, shirley and I went to the city for maccas + fireworks = bestnightever

the fireworks were spectacular! and there was lots of laughter, hugging, friendship, walking and waiting :D

afterwards... i stayed at star city ... watched avatar in 3D.. it was okay, i kinda expected more but oh wells :D hmm i didnt do that much shopping but i did buy these morning glory books for 1 dollar each :O . i love my inner cheap self.

okay so i've decided to post up a story that a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend (and so forth) told me in math ~ once upon a time...

" i was talking to my brother while driving in the car.. and he was telling me about this party he went to.. and he was like the 'only' sober one there.. and everyone else was just totally drunk!

anyways this one guy was holding a beer bottle in his hand and we stumbled backwards.. and fell over the dog house!.. in the fall.. he hand crushed the beer bottle and cut his hand like 5 times! deeply mind you.

so my brother.. being the only 'sober' one there drove his good friend to the hospital and wrapped the blood soaked hand in a plastic bag to avoid blood getting on his leather seats

my brother was driving through red lights and overtaking people left and right.. and during this the friend kept on repeating... "i'm fine! i'm fine!"

however... halfway through .. he said ... "dude .. i cant feel my hand" groggily

and then mumbled "gimme a smoke"

"i need a smoke before i leave"

LOL. anyways as my brother was repeating this to me.. i said

"wait.. so this guy was sitting right here? where im sitting??!"

".. yeh.. you should watch out there might be some blood"

"AHHHHHHHH!"
